Responsibilities:

Responsible for the planning of IP network architecture or solution including technology selection, security planning, capacity planning, new services rollout and service performance improvement.
Perform technical feasibility and financial viability study on new emerging technologies or services.
Gather, understand and evaluate the requirements from the various functional entities for the new services/products and formulate the technical specifications.
Plan and work with other departments and external bodies to ensure smooth and timely implementation of projects
Provide technical consultation and support to internal or external customers e.g. Products, Marketing, overseas partners etc.
Continuous review of work processes to improve the network quality and work efficiency.
Plan the near- and long-term network architecture and capacity needs.
Create and maintain documentation that relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.
Manage the software release process and meet scheduled release dates. Act as gatekeeper to ensure product releases are supportable.
Interact and negotiate with vendors and contractors to secure network products and services.
Provide orientation and training to end-users for all modified and new systems.
Requirements:

Degree in Data Communication or related discipline with at least 3 years’ experience in Telecommunications industry.
Extensive experience with CISCO series routers, switches and Checkpoint firewalls.
Good technical knowledge of network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards, including Internet Routing, TCP/IP, ATM, Network Security and knowledge of Networking Protocols such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS etc.
Preference will be given to candidates with Cisco certifications including CCNA, CCNP, CCIE.
Understanding of project management methodology and preferably has completed full-cycle management.
Is pro-active and able to work independently in a dynamic and challenging environment.
Creative with strong communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Goal oriented with good analytical skills. Committed to delivering high quality output.

Understand features/functionalities of the application systems and configurations setup.
Analyse and document user requirements and determine degree of fit with application systems. Study impact on the system and on user procedures. Propose workaround solution, if necessary.
Coordinate and implement the change requirements, taking into consideration the process flow and operations impact.
Carry out investigations and analyse problems reported by user. Liaise with supplier, where necessary, and follow-through the entire problem management cycle until issues are resolved.
Prepare program specifications, code program; conduct code review and software quality control.
Conduct end-user training.
Provide user support during relevant business activities which may include opening and closing of annual stock take, year end closing, budgeting, etc.
